On Monday, November 9, the Committee of Good Will - Olga Havel Foundation organized an online discussion Youth Tunes Civil Society as part of the Give a Heart project. The discussion brought together almost 50 participants. Ten winning projects were presented by high school students.
The Committee of Good Will - The Olga Havel Foundation in cooperation with ČSOB have been providing study scholarships to students with social and health disadvantages for 25 years. Another 22 high school and university students received this support in the autumn.
The second year of The Olga Havel Foundation's Goodwill Run was really successful. Over 400 runners came to the Hvězda Forest in Prague 6 on the afternoon of September 10th and supported families in need.
We would like to invite you to the second Goodwill Run in Hvězda forest in Prague, offering not only a sports experience, but also a nice afternoon you can spend with your family, enjoying various activities for children and adults as well. You can look forward to individual runs and a relay, children’s races and fun and educational activities for children.
A publication happens to contain a brief report about the events which came about in the Committee of Good Will – the Olga Havel Foundation during 2019.
In 2020, the Committee of Good Will – Olga Havel Foundation commemorates the 30th anniversary of its establishment. The OHF was founded by Mrs. Olga Havel (1933 – 1996), the first wife of the President of the Czech Republic, in the tradition of the Committee for the Defense of the Unjustly Prosecuted and Charter 77 in the early 1990s.
During the coronavirus crisis, the Committee of Good Will - Olga Havel Foundation distributed 10 laptops and 45 tablets to children from families in need, seniors and children from Roma families. The gadgets were donated by ČSOB and individual donors for online education and communication between seniors and their families.
Within the European context, the term energy poverty signifies a situation in which one is not able to heat his own household sufficiently or at the expense of other vital expenditures only. Life under the dire conditions of energy poverty is depicted at the acclaimed photos of Mrs. Anna Šolcová.
The new grant programme, which responds to the state of emergency in the Czech Republic, is announced by the Committee of Good Will - Olga Havel Foundation. The Seniors' Support Fund programme will be limited to a period of specific measures declared by the Czech Government. The public can also donate to this Fund.
We thank all participants of Jizerská 50 competition and other donors, thanks to which we managed to raise a total amount of over CZK 200,000 to help people in need.
On Friday, January 24, it will be 24 years since Olga Havel died. Come and join members of the Olga Havel Foundation on this day at 3.30 p.m. to honor the memory of this extraordinary woman by lighting a candle at the Havel family tomb at the Vinohrady cemetery.
