Almost six hundred children from three dozen children's homes had an opportunity to enjoy vacation by the sea this year owing to the Holidays Project sponsored by the Trade Union entity Majetková správní a delimitační unie odborových svazů.

Children from children's homes had a chance to spend at least part of their holidays out of the institutional walls and to enjoy free time the same way as other children of similar age do. In the letters of gratitude, one can see what an exciting experience it was – just a brief quote from one of the letters:

"We warmly thank you for wonderful experience and beautiful days we were able to spend in Croatia. It was so astonishing to observe the kids to enjoy the sea and beaches, to visit a restaurant for the first time and to be able to take an ice cream every day."

Encouragement of the language education of the children from children’s homes - that is the aim of the Summer Language School Project supported financially by: the ČSOB Asset Management, Ms. Jindra Čekanová, Ms. Jana Strømsnes and CK INTACT - study abroad, ltd. Altogether 17 students attended the two-week language courses in the UK this year. Every year, studying abroad brings about a valuable opportunity for the participants to experience something new:   

"I and my sister spent the whole stay in a wonderful family who took a great care of us. They communicated with us in order to practice English, they took us for a trip, and they helped us when we needed anything. And as for the food, there was nothing to complain about. Simply perfect!"
