Organizers of the first year of the literature festival Belles Lettres decided to connect the event with a good cause and support disadvantaged pupils through the Foundation for Education.
In order to do so, they organized a charity book (as well as audiobook) market during the festival (which took place from 13th to 15th of June 2014). The books for the market were willingly provide by Baronet, Euromedia, Host, Jan Melvil, Jota, Labyrint, Martinus, Metafora, Paseka, Slovart, Smart press and Walker&Volf publishers. The financial gain of CZK 8 300 as well as books for CZK 63 333 was given by the organizers to the Committee of Good Will – Olga Havel Foundation in order to assist pupils from children’s homes. We would like to thank Katerina Borovanska from FREYA agency for organizing the donation as well as all the publishers for providing us with all the books.
