Children from children’s homes have improved language skills in the UK

Twenty young people from children’s homes participated this August in a two-week summer language school in the UK.

Language courses take place in the framework of the Education Fund and their aim is to enable disadvantaged young people to better develop language and communication skills. The project was supported Mrs. John Strømsnes, PhDr. Jindra Čekanová, ČSOB Asset Management and Intact Agency.

"…I returned from summer language school in the UK yesterday. Thanks to your Foundation I had the opportunity to spend two wonderful weeks there. And I would like to truly thank you from my heart. I'm really happy that I could spend a part of my holidays there - visit this beautiful country, improve English language, meet a lot of nice people, gain experience...

I really enjoyed going to school in Leeds. Teachers were kind and patient. The family I lived with was great, too; nice, patient, helpful, caring...

And England is a beautiful country, it totally charmed me. I enjoyed every moment. And last but not least – I realized there that I want to come back. After finishing school, I'd love to work in England. So perhaps with a bit of luck and great diligence it might happen. Many thanks again!"
