The 2005 Olga Havel Award was presented on 9 May 2005 at the Grand Hall of the Congress Center & TOP HOTEL in Prague 4 to the Zrcadlo self-help group, which helps people with mental illness prepare for their reunion with family and friends after longer periods of treatment at the Bohnice psychiatric hospital and helps them cope with various challenges involved in their return to society.

The Olga Havel Award – Olbram Zoubek’s bronze statue Encouragement – was presented by Dana Němcová in the presence of bishop Václav Malý and Board members Jaroslava Moserová and Ivan Douda. The award ceremony was attended by his excellency Boris Lazar, the ambassador of the Czech Republic to Germany, Olga and Karel Velan from Canada and other dear guests.

The ceremony featured a performance by violin virtuoso Jaroslav Svěcený and the Bambini di Praga choir with conductor Blanka Kulínská, accompanied by piano player Ludmila Čermáková. The event was hosted by member of the National Theatre ensemble Taťána Medvecká.
