![]() Committee of Good Will - The Olga Havel FoundationA quest marking one's destinyShortly after the November revolution, at the beginning of 1990, Olga Havel founded the Committee of Good Will. It's main aim is to defend the rights of people with physical disabilities and people who due to their long-term unfavorable health and social difficulties are not fully self-sufficient. We wish: to raise society's moral awareness, to draw attention to the deficiencies of the state's social policy and to the deficiencies in the work of the social, medical, educational and other institutions.
The Olga Havel Foundation was established in 1992 and members of the Committee of Good Will became members of its Board of Directors. In 1998, the foundation became registered under it's now traditional name The Committee of Good Will - Olga Havel Foundation.
The foundation provides immediate assistance to the physically handicapped, sick people, the elderly and the abandoned. It supports local and international non-governmental non-profit organisations and hence promotes the development of the social and health sector, where everyone can contribute to the organization of public affairs. Not even in a democratic country one cannot solve all the problems.
The foundation encourages local and foreign entrepreneurs to further develop the philanthropic strategy and recognize the programmes, which bring new forms of help in the social, healthcare and educational sector and to those which are concerned about the individual's destiny.
For the past ten years, the foundation has helped thousands of people, giving them a new meaning in life, and has helped them to integrate into the society. And that is what the Committee of Good Will - Olga Havel Foundation will always believe in.
